Once again the crown is in dispute. His Majesty invites all to come and choose a side. The Challengers will be fighting against each other for the Honor of being the next King of Markland.
What follows here are the official terms for fighting for this years Crown War!
The Crown will be determined by a "Best of 7" War Points system with the points being divvied up between the following contests :
4 points determined Heavy fighting scenarios to be drawn by King Kirin (or his appointed representative). Plate proof determined by coin flip (heads proof, tails not).
Possible scenarios include the following : Open field battle, bridge battle, hill battle (DK Top), hill battle (Ritchie Top), 10 per side field battle (reinforcements drawn from fighter pool until empty), "King" battle (unlimited resurrections until King is dead, DK & Ritchie are Kings), Control Point battle (3 control points, most points controlled at 10 minutes determined by fighters within 6 feet of control point), Castle Switch Battle (one side starts inside, by coin flip, opposing army lays siege, breach at 10 minutes, outside army has unlimited res inside army has none. After first battle, change sides. Winner is side with lowest time taking the castle)
1 point determined by "Light archer" battle
- All fighters may participate as long as they meet the Markland minimum armor standard, but all fighters will be counted as "light" regardless of kit. Markland legal bows, crossbows, and throwing weapons are allowed (shields will not be allowed). Fighters will be on opposing sides of a virtual waist high "barrier" that cannot be crossed, but may be shot over. Fight goes to last man standing.
1 point determined by Target Archery Tournament
Target Archery from a distance of no less than 25 feet. All may participate, and may use personal gear. Those without personal archery gear will be provided "loaner" gear to shoot. All bows must be "period-style" as would be accepted by Markland frat archery. Arrows must be constructed from wood or similar period material. Each person gets 6 shots, no practice shots during tournament time. The winning side will be determined by taking the average of the top 10 scores from each side. There will be a 1 hour official warm-up & practice period before the start of the tournament.
1 point determined by Target Throwing Weapons Tournament
Target Throwing from a distance of no less than 15 feet. All may participate, and may use personal gear. Those without personal Throwing gear will be provided "loaner" gear to throw. Throwing knives and axes may both be used. Weapons must be constructed of metal and wood no non period materials are to be part of the thrown weapon. Each person gets two sets of throws,
axe or knife or mix, throwers choice. One set of 3 at 10 to 15 foot and second 3 at 15 to 20 foot with no throwing at less than 10 foot. Field will be marked at required distances. No practice throws during tournament time. The winning side will be determined by taking the average of the top 10 scores from each side.
Crown War is open to all participants who are current on their membership fees.
The event will be held a Page's Farm. This has been confirmed.
